Of the reports received this month, 34,254 were accepted, and 11,557 were not accepted because the clues to the report were unknown or did not fall within the responsibility of the ecological environment department. Among them, the number of telephone and WeChat reports increased month-on-month, the problem of noise pollution was the most prominent, and the reports of the construction industry were the most concentrated.

  In May, among the reports received nationwide, the “12369” environmental protection report hotline reported a total of 19,113 cases, accounting for approximately 41.7%, WeChat reported 23,657, accounting for approximately 51.6%, online reports 2,628, accounting for approximately 5.7%, other channels 413 Pieces, accounting for about 0.9%. Among them, telephone reports increased by 13.1% month-on-month, and WeChat reports increased by 4.7% month-on-month.

The problem of noise pollution is the most prominent

  In terms of pollution types, there were more reports of noise pollution in May, accounting for 60.1% of the total reports, followed by reports of atmospheric pollution, accounting for 55.1%, and reports of water pollution, solid waste pollution, ecological damage, and radiation pollution accounted for 14.8%, respectively. 9.6%, 3.1% and 1.0%.

Among the noise pollution reports, industrial noise pollution reports were the most reported, accounting for 57.3% of the noise reports, followed by construction noise pollution reports, accounting for 32.1%. Among the water pollution reports, the most reported were domestic sewage pollution, accounting for 43.9% of wading reports, followed by industrial wastewater pollution reports, accounting for 23.7%.

Construction industry reports are most concentrated

  From the perspective of industry types, the public in May reported that the most concentrated industry was construction, accounting for 46.1%, followed by accommodation, catering, entertainment, and livestock breeding, accounting for 18.7% and 6.9%, respectively. Among them, reports from the construction industry increased by 1.7 percentage points from the previous month, while reports from the accommodation, catering, entertainment and livestock industries increased by 2.2 percentage points and 1.4 percentage points respectively.

Chongqing, Jiangsu and Guangdong report the highest volume

  Judging from the number of reports from different channels in various regions, Chongqing, Jiangsu, and Guangdong ranked first in total, while telephone reports in Chongqing, Jiangsu, and Liaoning accounted for a relatively high percentage, and reports in Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi accounted for a relatively high percentage.

  Judging from the proportion of provinces reporting pollution types, air pollution reports in Shanghai and Hubei account for a relatively high proportion, accounting for about 18 percentage points above the national average. Shanghai mainly reflects oil smoke pollution problems, and Hubei mainly reflects odor/odor problems. The noise pollution problems in Chongqing and Shaanxi are relatively prominent in the local area, accounting for more than 15% of the national average. Chongqing mainly reflects the noise pollution of construction and construction, and Shaanxi mainly reflects the problem of industrial noise pollution. The proportion of water pollution reports in Shandong and Hainan exceeded the national average by about 7 percentage points, mainly reflecting domestic sewage pollution.

Report processing status in March 2020

  The 26218 reports received in March 2020 were processed by the local ecological environment department. The Ministry of Ecology and Environment randomly conducts random checks on the handling of 2333 reports, and the pass rate of random checks is about 88.2%. There are grammatical/logic errors in the text, the response content is not related to the reported problem, and the report is not investigated item by item, and environmental violations are handled. Reports that are not in place, have not been reported to the whistleblower, or have been settled in a perfunctory manner have been instructed by the specific undertaking department to amend or reprocess.
