It was on August 8 last year that a woman aged 70 was hit at a circulation site in central Värnamo, where the intersection of Lagastigen and Jönköpingsvägen. The woman, who did not wear a bicycle helmet, sustained injuries to the skull, injuries that led to her death. Now the bus driver, a man in his 50s, has been charged with negligence for the death of another.

The driver denies the crime

According to the indictment, the accident was caused by the bus driver not giving the woman the opportunity to pass as she cycled across the crossing bicycle passage and thus he is suspected to have committed the act of negligence. The driver has said in interrogation that the woman came cycling quickly and that he saw her too late to stop when he would swing out of the roundabout.

The evidence consists of evidence of the accident, a technical examination of the bus which shows that the vehicle had no technical faults, photographs from the scene and an autopsy report to prove the cause of death. The driver of the bus denies the crime.
