National Police officers have arrested a 66-year-old man in Vigo who allegedly sexually abused several minors, including his own daughter, a granddaughter and a stepson.

A person from the detainee's environment warned the Police that the daughter, a resident of the United States, wanted to denounce her father for abuses towards her granddaughter, specifically touching, when they both resided in Vigo in 2014.

Agents contacted the Spanish Embassy in Washington to locate the complainant, who told them that her father took advantage of the weekends in which he took care of the granddaughter to abuse the minor, the same thing he did with her years ago.

A stepson of the detainee also told investigators that when he was a minor, his stepfather subjected him to sexual abuse for years, which he never told his mother out of fear.

With the progress of the investigations, the Police found new victims of abuse that dated back to previous years.

One of them, also a minor at the time, stated that the detainee, who lived near her home, had tried to show her some parts of her body in exchange for some chocolates or gifts.

This individual had already been denounced in 2014 by a girl who, according to her account, had also suffered touching once he had her go up to his house, taking advantage of the relationship of trust he had with his parents.

All the reported cases agree that the detainee took advantage of the kinship or trust situation to commit the crimes.

In addition, he always used his own home as a stage, knowing that this environment could provide privacy and security to achieve his sexual goals. Subsequently, she ensured that minors did not say anything to anyone.

On June 19, the officers proceeded to arrest him and take his statement at the police stations of the Vigo Police Station, police sources report on Monday.
