"Recently, even with the decisive vote of the Center Right, and we take responsibility for it, two budget deviations were voted that have profoundly increased the indebtedness of the country" said Mariastella Gelminito the microphones of SkyTg24. "Unfortunately Italy has a gigantic debt. The theme is not the Mes, the basic question is to understand if the two budget deviations that we have voted not to help the Conte government, but to Italy - we are talking about 80 billions of euros -, they are used to give liquidity to companies, to save jobs, to pay layoffs, or if these resources are used by 5Stelle for scooters and for small brands that are not needed by the country ", continued Gelmini . "We give a notice to the Executive: Forza Italia is not available to vote for the third budgetary gap closed. Either the government tells us what these resources are used for or otherwise the country's additional indebtedness only if the majority votes. we can't go on ".

Speaking of the  Mes , Mariastella Gelmini highlighted: "We have spared no criticism of Europe, the EU has moved late on the Covid issue, but has moved. Important decisions have been made. Not only the Mes, we have the Recovery Fund, the Sure funds, the resources of the European Investment Bank and the ECB bazooka. Forza Italia has a pragmatic approach : if the Mes resources are there, they are convenient and without conditions, it is a shame not to use them " . Adding: "Covid has hit us in the face with a reality: the need to strengthen, for example, local medicine and telemedicine. We have a common sense position, these resources must be used to prepare ourselves in the hypothesis, which we hope never happens to a second wave of the virus. The truth is that Conte is upset with Merkel, but the divisions are all internal to the majority. "

Even Anna Maria Bernini ,  leader of Forza Italy in the Senate , is on the same wave length of Gelmini: "A week after the closing of the States General, the Prime Minister has not yet set a date for the announced meeting with the opposition, and who knows if he will ever do it. But in July in Parliament he will have to present himself both for the new budget shift - on which he obviously has no intention of dealing with us - and for communications before the European Council. Here: if the indiscretions of Press according to which the majority resolution will not contain any reference to the Mes, in order not to irritate the 5Stelle and postpone everything until September, we would consider it an act of total irresponsibility in front of which Forza Italia would be forced to change its attitude of institutional collaboration with a government that is clearly rowing against the national interest.
