• Lyon: Grégory Doucet claims a "historic" victory

The ecologist Grégory Doucet, head of the list of a coalition uniting EELV and the left parties, claimed a "historic" victory at the town hall of Lyon, Sunday June 28 in the evening, at the end of the second round of the municipal elections.

"Lyon is at the rendezvous; we are at the rendezvous. Lyon has chosen ecology", he rejoiced in front of the press at the end of an election where he came far ahead of the foal from Gérard Collomb and the right, Yann Cucherat, and to Georges Képénékian (LREM dissident), according to polling institutes which give him more than 20 points in advance while awaiting the official results.

"We are now going to do what we said because nothing will be done without the Lyonnaises and Lyonnais", he tried to reassure, after a campaign marked by the attacks of his opponents on the danger that would pose environmentalists on the economic development of the city.

  • Bordeaux: end of a 73-year reign for the right

Environmentalist Pierre Hurmic claimed victory in Bordeaux, defeating outgoing mayor LR Nicolas Florian and ending 73 years of right-wing rule. Speaking in the town hall courtyard, this 64-year-old lawyer promised to be "a full-time mayor of Bordeaux".

"It is a historic victory, I always thought that the Bordeaux people were ripe for ecology. This victory, I will assume it without arrogance and with pride", he said, adding that his first decision would be "to entrust the finance committee to an elected representative of the opposition".

"Those who know me know that I will be a humble mayor, you will not see the slightest arrogant or revengeful words in my mouth," he promised.

  • Marseille: two polls give Michèle Rubirola the winner

Michèle Rubirola, at the head of a left-wing coalition, came out on top in Marseille, ahead of candidate LR Martine Vassal, according to two estimates from pollsters.

The ecologist collects 39.9% of the votes, ahead of Martine Vassal (29.8%) and the candidate of the National Rally Stéphane Ravier (19.8%), according to Harris Interactive Epoka for TF1-LCI and RTL. Bruno Gilles, dissident LR, collects 6.2%, Samia Ghali (DVG) 2.7% and Yvon Berland (LREM-UDI) 1.6%.

At the head of Printemps Marseille (PS / EELV / PCF / LFI), Michèle Rubirola obtains 39.4% of the votes, ten points ahead of Martine Vassal 29.4%, and Stéphane Ravier at 20.5%, according to Elabe Berger-Levrault for BFMTV and Le Parisien. Bruno Gilles obtains 6.1%, Samia Ghali 2.7% and Yvon Berland 1.9%, according to this institute.

The poll was marked, despite the stake, by a record abstention, located around 65% according to the two institutes, or less than one in three voters who came to vote.

  • Lille: Martine Aubry reelected on the wire

A victory at 227 votes! PS mayor of Lille Martine Aubry was a survivor on Sunday evening in the face of the national green wave, after having prevailed on the wire, after a long suspense, in front of her ex-ecological ally Stéphane Baly.

Aged 69, the former emblematic minister of the plural left, who remains for many "the Lady of the 35 hours", may also partly owe her greetings to the calls to vote for her officials ... municipal opposition on the right. As for the managers of La France insoumise, worried about this green push for the upcoming elections, they supported mezzo voce Martine Aubry.

Just after the announcement of his victory, the one who felt the wind of the ball was careful not to display. "I first of all feel great sadness at the rate of abstention as high in France and Lille. We will have to find politics again! I also feel great happiness at having obtained the confidence of the people of Lille to continue to go further, much further on social justice and ecological transition, "said Martine Aubry.
