The president of the National Rally Marine Le Pen welcomed on Sunday evening a "real big victory" for her party in the municipal elections, seeing it as a "real click".

"This is not only a symbolic victory, it is a real trigger, because we will also be able to demonstrate that we are capable of managing large communities, which obviously will be important given the departmental deadlines and regional, "said Ms. Le Pen after Louis Aliot's victory in Perpignan.

"It is also the end of the + anti-republican front + in reality, that is to say the one which consisted in making beat the National Rally only because it is the National Rally", she continued on TF1, citing notably the election of party candidates in Perpignan, but also in Bruay-la-Buissière (Pas-de-Calais) and Moissac (Tarn-et-Garonne).

"This satisfaction comes in an astonishing election, which is also struck by a historical abstention. I dare to hope that this abstention is linked exclusively to the health crisis, I fear that this is not necessarily the case and therefore it will we have to ask each other all political parties combined, "she added.

Asked about the victory of Louis Aliot in Perpignan, who won between 53.1 and 54% of the votes according to estimates, she estimated that it was "the victory of the gathering of the French around a project, d 'a team, from a city which, it must be said, concentrates all the failures of the policy led by French leaders for years ".
