The Greens would thus achieve a historic double, inflicting a real snub on Gérard Collomb, who still hoped to be able to keep the metropolis by joining forces with the Republican François-Noël Buffet.
"The voters wanted a more breathable, more united and more green metropolis", welcomed the environmental candidate, announcing that he would lead the agglomeration of Lyon with a "united team", namely the environmentalists and the left forces. David Kimelfeld, the outgoing president and François-Noël Buffet could in fact be satisfied with the crumbs.
