27 June 2020 European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen has announced a new 4.9 billion euro commitment from the team europe, with the European Investment Bank, for universal access to coronavirus vaccines, tests and treatments . "We will end this pandemic only when it is over everywhere," he told the event about fundraising for the vaccine, the texts and the treatments for coronavirus.

"This means that every person in the world will have access to tests, treatments and vaccines, regardless of where they live, where they come from or what they look like. For this, we must invest in the production of vaccines at an unprecedented rate," added Von der Leyen.

"And a task of this size can only happen if the world unites. We need our best scientists to work together" and "our global health organizations join forces. And also that governments, businesses and philanthropists intervene and provide funding ", said the president of the European Commission cell, stressing that" tens of billions "are needed.

Von der Leyen said firmly "convinced of multilateralism with vaccines", specifying that "to think that you can beat this virus by vaccinating only your own people by neglecting others is simply wrong".

Finally considering that "we live in a very connected world, no country will be able to return to normal while others are still fighting the virus," he reiterated. "So first of all, we need a vaccine" and "we have to make it affordable for everyone," he concluded.
