After the jet ski accident in the Karlberg Canal last weekend, when a driver lost control and drove at high speed into a tree, the Liberals in Kungsholmen's district council want to see a jet ski ban on Ulvsundasjön, Karlberg Canal and Hornsberg's beach.

But the ban must be expanded, the kayak clubs in central Stockholm want to see a ban east of the Karlberg Canal to Riddarfjärden and Långholmen. Now the canoeists' meetings with watercraft will be documented and then the politicians will be alerted.

- From the beginning, the members thought that the watercraft drivers were disturbed. Today, it is a more criminal behavior where members have been surrounded and some have been hit, says Ingemar Persson, chairman of the Stockholm Kayak Club.

The maximum speed of the watercraft is around 120 kilometers per hour and has a weight of about 500 kilos.

- Many members find it scary when they come across one and you do not know what the intention is.
