The meeting was held by the European Commission (EU) in collaboration with the citizen group'Global Citizen' to raise funds for the development and distribution of corona19 vaccines and therapeutics.

Prime Minister Chung also explained the humanitarian aid efforts of the Korean government and said, "We are providing more than $100 million this year to countries that lack masks and diagnostic kits, and $50 million to develop and distribute Corona19 vaccines and treatments."

The meeting was attended by representatives of governments from about 30 countries, international organizations, and private organizations, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Lichenlong Singapore and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guthes.
