The Lyon prosecutor's office opened a judicial inquiry this Saturday after the accident on June 24, 2020 in Vaulx-en-Velin, of which a 5-year-old child was victim. The latter, whose vital prognosis is no longer engaged, has a Temporary Incapacity for Work (ITT) estimated at 30 days by the medical examiner having examined him.

The driver of the scooter involved was charged with involuntary injuries resulting in an IIT of less than 3 months, aggravated by three circumstances: the manifestly deliberate violation of an obligation of care or safety (driving an unlicensed vehicle and driving excessive speed), hit and run and the use of narcotic drugs (his blood test having revealed the presence of cannabis).

The rodeo not established

Investigations should continue on the exact circumstances of this accident. For the time being, the elements collected do not allow us to characterize the commission of a rodeo. However, the Lyon public prosecutor's office decided to appeal the decision to place him under judicial supervision.

The indicted driver has already been sentenced three times: in 2014 for refusing to comply and using drugs, in 2016 for contempt and rebellion and in 2018 for theft in assembly.
