The head of the company Sergey Makogon announced this on his Facebook page.

"The operator of the Ukrainian GTS" has switched to a special mode of operation due to flooding in the western regions of Ukraine, "he wrote.

Makogon explained that a special mode of operation involves the prevention of possible emergencies in the gas transportation system.

“In order to quickly take measures and ensure uninterrupted gas supply to Ukrainian and European consumers, we identified all potentially dangerous zones and developed localization measures in case of emergencies, as well as scenarios for switching gas flows,” he said.

According to him, the company constantly monitors the water level and the condition of the supporting structures at the places where rivers cross pipelines.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who flew into the Ivano-Frankivsk region, which was affected by the floods, said that he was struck by the scale of the rampant disaster.

On June 26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced that the agency had turned to NATO and the European Union for help in connection with the floods in the west of the country.
