• Basque Country Elections: De Meer, injured by a stone, during a Vox rally in Sestao

The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has announced that he will denounce the Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, for "electoral crime" at a rally in Irun that has been held in a tense climate, riddled with insults and screaming, although the strong police device has prevented the protesters access the place where it was held.

The event was called for 8:00 pm this Saturday in Plaza Prio XXII in the border town, whose accesses have been permanently guarded by Ertzaintza riot squads that have not allowed the passage of people who have come to protest the Vox presence.

Abascal has delivered a speech in which he has lashed out at Urkullu, whom he has accused of "throwing the stone" that reached deputy Rocío de Meer yesterday and "hiding his hand" and of maintaining a "stinking equidistance".

In streets near the square where the rally was held, as well as in Luis Mariano and Pikoketa streets, collectives of "anti-fascists" have carried out incidents by overturning and setting fire to containers, which has caused several police charges.
