“According to the main parameters in Russia, the goal of eliminating extreme poverty has been achieved,” the document states.

So, already in 2017, the share of the population with per capita incomes below $ 3.2 per day (the threshold set by the World Bank) was below 0.1%, about 1% of Russians lived on less than $ 5.5 per day, and less than by $ 10 - 6.2%.

As noted, the country's current policy provides for reducing the poverty level by at least two times by 2024 (in 2018, the share of the poor with incomes below the subsistence level was 12.6%).

It is assumed that this will be facilitated by the implementation of national projects, such as Demography, and the development of new support mechanisms (for example, the introduction of the “social contract” tool).

Earlier, the Accounts Chamber said that the goal of reducing poverty in Russia to 10.8% in 2020 may not be achieved.
