Olivier Véran, Minister of Health, answers the angry caregivers. They believe that the envelope of 6 billion euros, proposed between public and private is insufficient.

INTERVIEW

An envelope to calm anger. The Minister of Health Olivier Véran proposed to the unions an envelope of 6 billion euros to increase the salaries of agents of the hospital public service. This measure, one month after the opening of the "Ségur de la santé", was accompanied by an overhaul of premiums as well as targeted increases in certain professions. Caregivers are concerned about the sharing of this budget between public and private. The Minister, guest of Europe 1, answers.

"Six billion is a lot, it's almost the equivalent of the justice budget," says Olivier Véran. "It is a revaluation which is annual and which is not for all balances since we also transform the hospital, the city medicine, the link between the two, the medico-social, the Ehpad ... L "all sectors must be concerned, we will talk about public health, prevention, hospital beds, hospital funding ..."

A majority "commitment"

"The President of the Republic and the Prime Minister wished through this 'Ségur de la santé' to show the recognition and the fair valuation of the professions of white coats which took great care of the French during this crisis and who take care elsewhere apart from the daily French crisis, "said the Minister of Health. "There was a drop in the level of remuneration of hospital carers compared to average salaries, there have been budget cuts year after year in the last ten or fifteen years, it is the commitment of this majority that d 'go and support and enhance their actions.
