Falkenberg goalie Viktor Noring went on a free-kick in the middle of the first half when he chopped a striking Taylor Silverholt.
With a man more on the pitch, Mjällby got a certain takeover and shortly after half time Silverholt nodded in the first and only goal of the match.
Mjällby will face Malmö FF in the semi-finals.
