KLM Supporting 400 billion yen from the Dutch government Corona's business difficulties June 27, 7:06

The Dutch government has announced that it will provide KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, which is in business difficulties due to the spread of the new coronavirus, with assistance of EUR 3.4 billion (about 400 billion yen).

According to the announcement, of the approximately 400 billion yen, approximately 280 billion yen is the amount guaranteed by the government for borrowing from banks, and the remaining 120 billion yen is directly financed by the government.

On the other hand, as conditions for support, we are demanding that the salaries of employees be reduced and bonuses not be paid, and that the number of night flight operations be reduced.

Air France, the same group as KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, has also decided to raise €7 billion (over ¥840 billion) with the support of the French government.

If this support is approved by the EU = European Union, the Air France KLM Group will raise a total of 10.4 billion euros (about 1,250 billion yen) with government support.
