Cycling and hiking

Above all, the canal company sees an increased interest in cycling and hiking along Sweden's blue band. According to the company, cafe and camping owners also confirm this. They also state that tourists see the canal as a safe and beautiful place. The hotels and hostels are said to be tougher. In addition, none of the large cruise ships are going this year.

According to the canal company, boat bookings from Swedish tourists have increased by 28 percent compared to 2019. However, the overall increase is only a few percent higher as foreign visitors decreased to a corresponding degree.
