A hearse parked on the A36 motorway service area of Marchaux in the Doubs attracted the attention of the customs officers of Besançon, reports the Est Républicain . During a routine check, they were intrigued by the young hearse driver who seemed nervous but also by the questionable screen printing placed on the sides of the van.

The absence of a cooling system in the vehicle and the summary aspect of the coffins have finished establishing their certainties. The coffins were therefore opened immediately. Good pick: inside the four coffins, they discovered 71 kg of cannabis herb, all packed in heat-sealed sachets, specify our colleagues. A booty estimated by customs at 700,000 euros.

The driver was placed in police custody before being brought before the Besançon parquet floor.
