Criticized in particular for the lack of diversity in his government, the Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, appointed Carlos Alberto Decotelli to the Ministry of Education, the first black person in his ministerial team as well as a new Minister of Communication: Fabio Faria, who is none other than the son-in-law of the boss of one of the largest terrestrial channels in Brazil.

Since the start of his mandate, Jair Bolsonaro has repeatedly attacked the media and journalists, " he says, an endangered species ". Verbal warfare accompanied by threats and legal proceedings. But while the country seems to be plunging into a political crisis and it cannot manage to control the Covid-19 epidemic , the Brazilian president seems to be making a drastic change, at least apparently.

Because the appointment of Fabio Fara to the Ministry of Communication is not necessarily seen well. Aged 42, very charismatic, the new minister is none other than the son-in-law of the boss of SBT, the second network of hertzian channels in the country. If he says he wants to " pacify " Brazil by proposing a " patriotic armistice ", a kind of sacred union to fight the coronavirus, he is especially already pointed out by the National Federation of Journalists who denounces in a press release a " conflict interests ”.

The other appointment that allows Jair Bolsonaro to silence certain detractors is that of the economist Carlos Alberto Decotelli in Education. In an interview with CNN, he said he was surprised by this choice. He is the black Prime Minister in this government, which has only two women for a total of twenty-three departments.
