For Nelson Bouard, this dismantling of a vast drug trade in the Izards district is "a very good deal". So beautiful that the departmental director of public security in Haute-Garonne held a press conference alongside the public prosecutor Dominique Alzéari this Friday afternoon, at the Toulouse court.

On Monday, some 170 police officers intervened in the city, in several surrounding municipalities and even in Saint-Tropez following an investigation of several months carried out by the departmental security. Sixteen people, all of them over the age of majority, were arrested and taken into police custody. Ten of them have been indicted. Seven have been in detention since Thursday, two others could join them in prison this Friday at the end of the day and one last person has been placed under judicial supervision.

A luxury villa rented on the Var coast

The operation therefore extended to the famous seaside resort of Var, where presumed members of the network, described as "structured" and "complex" by the investigators, had offered themselves a few days of vacation, in a villa luxurious. In total, more than 50 kg of drugs were found: 45 kg of cannabis resin, 4 kg of herb and one kg of cocaine.

Several weapons, including some of large caliber, were seized, as well as 45,000 euros in cash, vehicles and branded clothing. Some deal points, among the most important in Haute-Garonne, could bring in up to 20,000 euros per day.
