A polling station in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, on March 15. - ROMUALD MEIGNEUX / SIPA

D-day is approaching. The second round of municipal elections in Paris takes place this Sunday, more than a hundred days after the first. But what device in polling stations to protect everyone's health after the coronavirus crisis? 20 Minutes takes stock of what you need to know and take with you before going to the polls to decide between the last three candidates in the running, Anne Hidalgo (PS), Rachida Dati (LR) and Agnès Buzyn (LREM).

"The polling stations will be set up and equipped to protect voters and people participating in the conduct of voting operations," promises the mayor of Paris. The city has 872 which will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A special device

The City of Paris will implement the recommendations of the report of the Scientific Council published on May 19, 2020, indicates the town hall, by specifying that these provisions will allow everyone to exercise their right to vote in the best conditions of health security. Or, as in the first round, we will find the placement of hydroalcoholic gel at the entrance and at the exit, markings on the ground, cleaning operations before and after the vote. The contact surfaces will be regularly disinfected with a virucidal spray: table, booth, protective walls.

The marking on the ground will allow the respect of physical distances, of at least 1 meter between each voter, and between the voters and the personnel participating in the voting operations. This marking on the ground will be present throughout the voter journey. Walls to limit projections will finally be installed in front of the polling station agents, the assessors and the president of the polling station. What should you take before leaving?

Mask, pen, electoral card and identity document

To vote, bring - in addition to your electoral card and your identity document - your own mask (general public, surgical or medical). "If you do not have an individual mask, a surgical mask will be given to you upon your arrival," announces the town hall. The members of the polling station (agents, assessors and president of the polling station) will benefit from the same equipment, as well as protective visors.

Finally, pens will be made available for signing up, but voters are nevertheless invited to bring their own pen (blue or black).
