“We regard the demonstration by Russia during the so-called“ military parades ”in the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol of military equipment as a continuation of Russia's policy of militarization of the Crimea, which poses a serious threat to European security,” the press release said.

Kiev called the actions of Russia a "provocation" to further escalate tensions in Ukrainian-Russian relations.

“The corresponding note of protest has been handed over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia,” the Ukrainian department emphasized.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the statement of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Bodnar on Russia's debts for the deployment of the Black Sea Fleet in Crimea.

At the end of April, Russia returned two notes in the Crimea to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held in March 2014, at which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
