A new partial unemployment scheme will be put in place from July 1, to deal with the economic consequences of the Covid-19. Meeting on Wednesday for the final arbitrations, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and the social partners have reached an agreement. The scheme, which will require a collective agreement signed in the company or at the professional branch level, will compensate employees at 84% of net salary, with a remaining charge of 15% for companies, for a maximum period of two years . Some unions point to an insufficiently protective agreement.

"The company will be compensated at 85% of the compensation paid to the employee (ie 15% of the rest dependent) for an agreement concluded before October 1, and 80% for an agreement concluded after", announced the Elysée which believes it offers a high level of protection. But according to Yves Veyrier, secretary general of Force Ouvrière, this is not the case.
