In all of Sweden's counties except six, there is a ban on burning in all or part of the county (see map).
In Bengtsfors, Åmål and Dals-Ed in Värmland, the burning ban has also been tightened during the past week to also apply to fires with firewood and charcoal at specially designated barbecue places in the forest.
- We have widespread canoe tourism here. The forest fires of recent years here have started either in lightning strikes or after tourists have burned in the forest, so it is a bit about local conditions. Natural tourism is expected to increase a little because of the corona, so we keep the tightening ban even though it has rained a little neighbor, says Christian Rådén, rescue manager in Bengtsfors and Åmål.
