The 50-year-old was tried on appeal by the Haut-Rhin Assize Court in Colmar for killing the daughter of his partner on August 31, 2016 in Lingolsheim, near Strasbourg.
That evening, he had struck the victim repeatedly with the hammer. "I started typing, I couldn't stop," he said at the hearing in comments reported by the regional daily. The premeditation was again recognized and he received the same sentence as at first instance, last October.
