Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - After the price slide from the previous day, investors on the German stock market avoid the risk on Thursday as well. A few minutes after the Xetra launch, the Dax slid below the 12,000 point mark at which it last traded earlier last week.

The most recent minus was 1.12 percent at 11,957.94 points. The focus is on Bayer after billions of dollars in comparisons in the USA and Lufthansa with the extraordinary general meeting on the airline's rescue package.

On Wednesday, the leading German index had already dropped by almost three and a half percent due to renewed corona concerns and the risk of further US tariffs on goods from Europe, but still held above 12,000 points.

The MDax of medium-sized market stocks lost 0.72 percent in early trading on Thursday to 25,339.56 points. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 fell by one and a half percent.
