It was in the residential area of Gräshagen in Jönköping that Filip Åsbrink Gramén and his girlfriend got to see the furry creature roam. It was around 01 am the night before Wednesday when they drove through the area and discovered the wildlife.

- It was a little scary, but at the same time cool to see a wolf. What are the odds of meeting a wolf in town, says Filip while showing around SVT's reporter at the site of the unique meeting.

Girls ran to the car

In connection with the wolf meeting, Filip saw two younger girls running out of the street. They ran away from the wolf that was haunting them.

- So we turned and drove towards them and screamed that they would jump into the car.

He tells us that the wolf then picked up the girls and was about two meters from them.

Unusual according to the expert

Seeing wolves in cities is unusual, but this has happened before, according to Linda Andersson, who is a predator at the County Administrative Board in Jönköping County. She thinks it was a wolf, and not a dog, that Philip met.

Linda Andersson is a predator at the County Administrative Board of Jönköping County.

"What I can see in the movie is that it looks like a wolf and it's probably the one that was seen the next morning in Taberg," she says.

Linda Andersson tells us that wolves are normally shy and avoid humans, but that at the same time you should have respect for wildlife.

In June 2012, a female animal keeper died at Kolmården Zoo after being attacked in the wolf fence. But Linda Andersson says that wild wolves have not killed a human in Sweden for hundreds of years.
