Another bather has drowned in the Vendée sea in recent hours. Wednesday afternoon, a 68-year-old man died on a beach in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, according to Ouest-France . Witnesses removed it from the water, but they failed to resuscitate it.
On the spot, the firemen could not do anything either. The drama took place around 4 p.m. on the beach of Demoiselles, at level A, on the border between Saint-Hilaire and Saint-Jean-de-Monts.
Drowned in Jard Tuesday
Already on Tuesday, in Jard-sur-Mer, a 69-year-old woman drowned during a swim with three other people. The group found themselves in difficulty due to the currents. Called immediately, the firefighters had gone to the beach and had deployed significant resources, including a helicopter, but had been unable to do anything to revive the victim, originally from Cholet.
