Xinhua News Agency, June 24, according to comprehensive foreign media news, on the morning of the 23rd local time, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Mexico. So far, 5 people have been killed and many injured. Mexico has a strong sense of earthquakes, buildings are violently shaken, and even the streets are curved "like chewing gum".

On June 23, local time, in Oaxaca, Mexico, a house was damaged in the earthquake.

According to data from the National Seismological Agency of Mexico, the earthquake occurred at 10:29 on the 23rd local time, with a magnitude of 7.5 on the Richter scale, and the epicenter was located 14 miles away from the seaside town of Cruzeiro in the Oaxaca state in the Pacific Ocean. The United States Geological Survey determined the magnitude to be 7.4 on the Richter scale.

When the earthquake struck, Miguel Candelaria, 30, used a computer to work in his home. He felt vibrations on the ground and ran outdoors with relatives, but when the sidewalks were curved and swayed, they had to stop in the middle of the road. Candelaria said, "We can't walk... this street is like chewing gum."

On June 23 local time, in Oaxaca, Mexico, people took shelter outdoors.

In Mexico City, hundreds of kilometers away from the epicenter, buildings shook violently, and people rushed to the street. Officials said that 2 people had been injured and more than 30 buildings were damaged. Images on social media show that the water in the rooftop swimming pool and water tank flows out under strong sloshing and flows down the residential building; the high-rise residential building under construction is swaying, and the construction workers hold each other tightly.

About an hour after the earthquake, there were still people wandering on the streets of some communities in Mexico City. Although city officials have repeatedly called on the public to wear masks to stop the spread of the new coronavirus, many people have not.
