According to several party leaders, the government now wants the review to be completed during the first quarter of 2022.

The elections are held in September of the same year.

- The government did the only thing that was reasonable. There were several parties that demanded that this be clear before the election, says Moderate leader Ulf Kristersson.

He thinks that the Commission's work must not go too far in time, because you have to learn quite quickly how to deal with a pandemic like the corona pandemic.

- The other is, of course, the responsibility. It would be almost provocative to put this after a choice, says Kristersson.

"You should start with the elderly care"

The Government will today send out a proposal for a directive for the Commission's examination to the parties. They have until Friday to comment.

- We think the first thing to do is to address the shortcomings in the elderly care. You should start work there and report as soon as possible, says the Left Party leader Jonas Sjöstedt.

- We will have the risk of the elderly getting the infection on the elderly and through the home service and we must do everything we can to avoid it, he says.

Limit what the Commission is looking at

According to the deputy Center leader Anders W Jonsson, the Prime Minister stated at the video meeting that one may need to limit what the Commission should actually watch for it to be completed well in advance of the election.

- All parties say that we think that voters should have an opportunity to evaluate what has been done during one of the worst crises in the country involved in the 2022 election, says Jonsson.

- But it is clear that the second scale is how comprehensive the examination can be.
