Tuesday, the body of an octogenarian was found at the bottom of the Philippe-Lamour canal, in Gard, indicate the services of the gendarmerie.
The day before, his family had reported his disappearance, and searches had been undertaken in the area of Gallargues-le-Montueux, in an attempt to find his trace.
Sonar used to locate the body
Gendarmes, municipal police, firefighters and divers were deployed. Until late, in the night of Monday to Tuesday, the searches had been in vain.
It was not until the next day that the divers, equipped with a sonar, found the lifeless body of the octogenarian. At the moment, we do not know under what specific circumstances the man died.
