The agreement does not cover all complaints

The settlement announced on Wednesday does not resolve all disputes, Bayer said it relates to about 75% of proceedings in the United States "which concern about 125,000 complaints in total," Bayer said in a statement.

The agreement "resolves current litigation and establishes a clear mechanism to manage the risks of potential future litigation," the statement said.

These "potential future cases will be governed by a 'class agreement' subject to court approval. The agreement includes the creation of a class of potential future plaintiffs and the creation of an independent class scientific committee."
