During the midsummer weekend, two people were injured in a jet ski accident at Hornsberg's beach in Stockholm.

Local bans on watercraft have since been discussed in, among others, Norrbotten and Stockholm counties. Earlier this week, the blue-green majority of Kungsholmen's district council came up with a proposal to introduce a ban on Klara lake, Lake Ulvsundasjön and the Karlberg Canal at Hornsberg's beach.

- A local ban on watercraft can be an emergency solution on the part of the municipality that we can get to quickly, says Rasmus Jonlund (L), chairman of the Kungsholmen district council.

driver's certificate

But preferably, like the Transport Agency, they want to see a national driver's license decision.

- This is not only a big city problem, but it is also found in, for example, Nyköping and Timrå, says Lars-Göran Nyström, maritime safety coordinator at the Swedish Transport Agency.

Several investigations have been made regarding a driver's certificate, which may soon become a reality according to Lars-Göran Nyström.

- Maybe in a year or two, this could be in port.

Isn't the 15 year limit introduced last summer enough?

- Personally, I don't like it. If you break the law if you are under 15 you are not a criminal, so unfortunately this does not lead to much.
