He stated this at a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela Jorge Arreasa in Moscow.
“We show constant solidarity with your determination to resist the external dictatorship, to resist attempts to roughly interfere in the internal affairs of a sovereign country, to resist attempts to provoke a forceful regime change,” RIA Novosti quoted Lavrov as saying.
Lavrov also noted that Moscow supports the position of the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, to develop a national dialogue with the Venezuelan opposition.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreasa, head of the government delegation, took part in the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the Victory on June 24 in Moscow.
