The closing statement of the ministerial meeting of the Arab League called for the rejection of foreign interference in Libya and the withdrawal of foreign forces from it, but four countries have reservations about the statement, which comes in the context of an Egyptian diplomatic move after Cairo threatened to intervene militarily in Libyan territory.

The closing statement of the Arab League meeting at the ministerial level, in its extraordinary session, which was held through video technology at the invitation of Egypt, stressed the need to reject external interventions in Libya, whatever their type and source, which the statement said contributes to facilitating the movement of foreign fighters to Libya , And violate arms embargoes.

He also called for the withdrawal of all foreign forces on Libyan territory and within Libyan territorial waters, in order to avoid an expansion of the confrontation.

The closing statement welcomed the Cairo Declaration, which was issued recently after the meeting of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi with retired Major General Khalifa Hifter and Speaker of the House of Representatives held in Tobruk (eastern Libya), Aqila Saleh.

This declaration is based on the fact that the solution must be based on the Libyan political agreement, the decisions of the UN Security Council, the outputs of the Berlin Conference, and the previous international summits and efforts.

Libya, Qatar, Tunisia, and Somalia have reservations about the final statement of the ministerial meeting of the Arab League, which was attended by representatives of 21 countries at the university, which comes days after Sisi's hinting of military intervention in Libya to prevent the forces of the Libyan National Accord government from advancing east to control the city of Sirte "450 kilometers east Tripoli, "Nearby and the Air Force Base", 650 kilometers southeast of the capital.

The Al-Wefaq government had rejected Egypt's invitation to this meeting, and then announced that it would reduce its participation in it.

Earlier, the internationally recognized Libyan government rejected what was called the Cairo Declaration, stressing that its aim is to try to save Haftar after the defeats suffered by his forces in the Libyan West.

Libyan reservations
The spokesman for the Libyan Foreign Ministry, Muhammad al-Qiblawi, said that Libya had reduced the level of its diplomatic representation in the Arab ministerial meeting, due to the lack of invitation to the government of national reconciliation.

Al-Qeblawi added that his country had reservations on two paragraphs of a draft resolution to welcome the Cairo declaration put before the meeting, considering that it does not distinguish between the forces of a friendly country that came to Libyan territory based on a written agreement between the two legitimate governments deposited with the United Nations, and between other forces that exceeded the sovereignty of the Libyan state and settled on Its territory.

For his part, Libyan delegate to the Arab League, Saleh Al-Shammakhy, said that the countries supporting Haftar facilitated and secured logistical support for the transfer of terrorist extremists and hired mercenaries to Libya, including the Wagner mercenaries who were fighting alongside Haftar's forces.

Al-Shammakhy added that after changing reality and defeating the aggression from Tripoli, countries that support a Haftar called for dialogue after obstructing peace efforts and aborting the ceasefire efforts.

During the meeting, the minister responsible for Omani foreign affairs, Yusuf bin Alawi, said that his country was sorry for the current situation in Libya, and that it was seeking to deal with it by peaceful means, considering that it would be beneficial for each party to find an excuse for his brother in such conditions that afflict the Arab countries.
