Putin's appeal

The day before, President Vladimir Putin addressed the Russians, during which he called the coronavirus pandemic a challenge of enormous complexity and thanked citizens for their responsible attitude to their health, the safety of relatives and mutual support.

“It was not easy for everyone. But it is very important that in our country, in society, there was no bewilderment, but, on the contrary, as happened more than once in our history, many people were united by a clear, clear understanding of the situation, awareness of the real threat, that you can fight and defeat it only to everyone together, that human life is the main thing. We acted on these values, which is why we were able to respond to the challenge of enormous complexity, ”the head of state said.

He stressed that since the pandemic began, the country has managed to establish its own production of effective drugs for treating coronavirus. Also, 14 national federal research centers are working on a vaccine against COVID-19.

“All the significant funds that have been invested in re-equipping hospitals, equipment, and training doctors for the months of fighting the epidemic are already working and will work to develop our healthcare system as a whole. But much remains to be done to improve the quality and accessibility of medical care, retrain personnel, repair, upgrade medical facilities on a modern, including digital, basis, ”Putin said.

The Russian leader also ordered the extension of the provision of incentive payments to medical workers. In addition, another payment of 10 thousand rubles was announced to families with children under 16 years of age.
