The New York Stock Exchange went up at the opening Tuesday after a tweet from Donald Trump assuring that the preliminary trade agreement between the United States and China was "entirely intact".

Around 13:55 GMT, its star index, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.76% to 26,222.70 points.

The Nasdaq, with a strong technological coloring, gained 0.74% to 10,131.23 points.

The S&P 500, which represents the 500 largest companies on Wall Street appreciated by 0.73% to 3.140.50 points.

Wall Street had started the week on a high note on Monday, the Dow Jones amounting to 0.59% and the Nasdaq (+ 1.11%) taking advantage of the good health of several major technology stocks to finish at a record.

Tuesday "the stock market started strong thanks to a tweet from President Trump indicating that the trade agreement between the United States and China was intact," said Patrick O'Hare of Briefing.

"This clarification was made after a statement (Monday evening, editor's note) on Trade Counselor Peter Navarro's Fox News that the deal was over," said O'Hare.

The remarks of Mr. Navarro, who later claimed that his comments had been taken out of context, briefly unscrewed the futures contracts on the New York indices overnight Monday to Tuesday.

But the equity market quickly recovered, continuing its impressive growth at the opening, almost uninterrupted since its plunge in late March.

Several analysts, however, continue to warn about the fragile health and economic situation and the risk of a sharp stock market downturn.

"The argument in favor of a fall in the stock market is based on the idea that the indices rose too quickly and too quickly, the Nasdaq having reached a new record and the S&P 500 being less than 10% of its peak before the pandemic in February, "notes Art Hogan of National Holdings.

"The increase in the number of cases of coronavirus contamination in several American states also worries the most pessimistic about the rate of recovery," added Mr. Hogan.

In the bond market, the 10-year rate on the US debt rose to 0.7151% GMT from 0.7085% Monday evening.
