The waiting halls at Jönköping Airport gap empty, no one is waiting to get out or for someone to come home. This has been the case since March 20, and for the airport the corona pandemic has been a major setback.

The cargo flight to and from the airport has been the rescue. Freight flights have increased, partly because large quantities of medical supplies have been sent to the region at the same time as the net trade has increased.

Looks a brightening

- We believe in charter traffic for the winter, the season starts in October, says Rony Forsberg, who is the airport manager. However, it looks very dark when it comes to domestic traffic. Arlanda or Bromma, I think that is really far away.

According to Forsberg, negotiations are instead under way for a new destination out in Europe - something he tells more about in the clips above.
