The Yemeni al-Houthi group expressed its willingness to go to Riyadh, in order to stop the war that has lasted for more than five years, provided that a public dialogue is provided with the Saudi-Emirati alliance supporting government forces.

This came in a meeting of the head of the so-called "Supreme Revolutionary Committee", Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, with the BBC, "broadcast on Sunday."

According to the group's "Ansar Allah" website, Houthi said in the interview that contacts with the coalition countries are still in the stage of controversy, and they have not yet entered the negotiation stage that leads to finding a real solution and cease-fire and war and lifting the siege on Yemen.

He added: "We do not have any restrictions or agenda that we fear will be exposed, and we are ready for a public dialogue with the aggression (coalition) countries in order to cease fire and lift the siege on Yemen imposed by the coalition five years ago, by land, sea and air."

Al-Houthi expressed his group's readiness to go to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, provided that there is a public dialogue with the coalition leading to a comprehensive ceasefire in the country.

It was not possible to obtain immediate comment from the Saudi-led coalition.

For the sixth year, Yemen has been in constant war between pro-government forces and Houthi militants in control of governorates, including the capital, Sanaa, since 2014.

Since March 2015, a military coalition led by the Saudi neighbor, has been supporting forces loyal to the Yemeni government against Iranian-backed Houthis, while the UAE has spent huge funds on arming and training forces parallel to the legitimate Yemeni government forces.

This conflict left one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, with 80% needing humanitarian aid and pushing the conflict millions of Yemenis to the brink of starvation.
