April 15, 2019Emilio Fede, definitively sentenced to 4 years and 7 months for the Ruby bis case, intends to ask the Head of State for pardon. "It is an idea that makes sense and we are reflecting on it," explained his lawyer, the lawyer savior Pino, after meeting him today. For the former director of Tg1 and Tg4 in the next few days, home detention will begin to serve the first part of the sentence.

Faith, who has always declared himself innocent with respect to the crime of aiding and abetting prostitution for the red light evenings in the villa San Martino di Silvio Berlusconi in Arcore, wants to present the request for pardon to the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.

For his defender, who met the journalist today, the crime for which he was convicted, the story in general and the conditions of the former director, who is almost 88 years old, are all elements for which "makes sense" the request for grace which, if accepted, extinguishes the sentence. "We are reflecting and we will see how to proceed," added the lawyer.

Last Friday, Fede obtained from the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office the suspension of the prison order with deferment of the sentence pending that the surveillance with the judge Gaetano La Rocca actually gives the go-ahead to house detention, an alternative measure that Faith can be granted because he is over 70 years old and the crime for which he was convicted is not an obstacle.

In the application, the defense also highlighted health reasons and Faith asked the judge to be able to stay in his wife's house in Naples.

For him, therefore, the way of house arrest will open in the next few days, a prison regime with which he will have to serve at least a few months, before the remaining part of the sentence reaches 4 years, when he can then ask for probation.
