The highest total fertility rate (how many children are born on average per woman from 15 to 50 years old) in 2019 was recorded in the Republic of Tuva - its value was 2.72.

In second place was Chechnya - 2.58. Next come the Nenets Autonomous Okrug - 2.17, then the Altai Republic (2.11) and Sakhalin Oblast (1.95). 

The lowest total birth rate was recorded in the Leningrad region (1.07), Mordovia (1.17), Smolensk (1.21), Penza (1.26) and Tula regions (1.26). 

In the whole country in 2019, the total birth rate was 1.5 children per woman of reproductive age. 

Previously, the regions were named - the leaders of Russia in the ratio of the number of registered marriages to the population in 2019.
