The police arrested on Saturday in Montpellier (Hérault) a sixty-something man, suspected of having stolen a high-end car, a BMW X5, and of having sold it in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), a few days later, for… 850 euros, learned 20 Minutes from the Hérault Departmental Security services.

On April 27, while playing pétanque in Montpellier, the man was accused of having discreetly stolen the bag of another boules player, whose car keys were inside. He would then have taken advantage of this luxury vehicle, before selling it to someone he did not know. The car was not found.

Suspected of stealing a bus driver's car

The suspect would not be his first attempt: he is also suspected of having stolen, on April 2, the bag of a bus driver, from which he would then have stolen the vehicle. The car had been found the next day in a district of Montpellier.

Identified by video surveillance, the man has since been wanted by the police.
