In Mali, three days after the widespread mobilization on Friday June 19 , the protest movement, the M5 is maintaining the pressure. This coalition, which brings together politicians, religious and civil society, continues to refuse any dialogue and is still demanding the resignation of the Head of State, Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta. At a press conference yesterday Monday, the leaders of the movement did not rule out future mobilizations.

In front of journalists and activists, the message of the M5 is clear: “  We haven't changed an iota!  " "  Do not be distracted by the resignations of each other ... Maintain our demand: the resignation of President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta!  Asserts Cheick Oumar Sissoko, leader of EMK, the civil society coalition.

For the moment, no timetable has been set, but for Choguel Maiga who heads the FSD, the opposition political coalition, it is a question of mobilizing all over the country. In Kaye, Bamako, Ségou, Mopti, Sikasso, Timbuktu ... throughout the national territory, the strategic committee will tell you in the coming days what its action plan is.  "

For Issa Kaou Djim, one of the right-hand men of Imam Mahmoud Dicko, the dissolution of institutions like the National Assembly or the Constitutional Court is only part of the solution. The institutions are questioned with his complicity! The main one is the Head of State, President of the Republic, that's the problem, but we want him to leave democratically,  ”assures Issa Kaou Djim.

The Constitutional Court also in the eye of the storm

The Constitutional Court has been singled out as the detonator of the political crisis because of the disputed results it proclaimed in certain electoral districts during the last legislative elections. Four of the 9 members of the Court have already resigned. Yesterday, the National Council of Civil Society of Mali (CNSCM), at a press conference in Bamako, made proposals to end the crisis and among them, the resignation of all the members of the Constitutional Court. It was one of the five proposals that emerged from CNSCM discussions.

Four people are still on the Court, including its president, Manassa Danioko, who is particularly under pressure but resists. An official visited him again Monday evening to ask him, "in the name of the national interest", to throw in the towel

In a press release on Monday, the European Union encouraged the authorities to take decisions to resolve the crisis, "  notably on post-electoral disputes  ".
