The coronavirus health crisis is compounded by an economic crisis, the effects of which are already being felt. In response to this, the Loire-Atlantique departmental council therefore decided to initiate its "own recovery plan to support the activity of Loire-Atlantique building and public works companies". This plan provides for the injection of 21 million euros over two years, in addition to the budgets already voted.

During the health crisis, the Department decided to launch its own recovery plan to support construction and public works companies: € 21 million will be invested over 2 years.

The largest sum (7.3 million euros) will be devoted to the renovation of departmental roads: upgrading of asphalt, modernization of marking and signaling, road safety facilities, environmental operations.

Support thermal renovation of housing

No less than seven million euros will also be granted to municipalities of less than 15,000 inhabitants for the maintenance of municipal roads. Finally, 6.5 million euros will be paid to social landlords to increase the construction of social housing and accelerate their thermal renovation.

"These investments will, in turn, have effects beyond the projects that we are going to undertake, with priority given to environmental and social interventions", justifies Philippe Grosvalet, PS president of the departmental council.
