Although the summer is just beginning, the risk of forest fire is currently high in several places. But the difference today and the great fire summer of 2018 is that the readiness to cope with larger forest fires is much better now. "Flying resources are an incredibly important part of what we need to cope with forest fires," says Mattias Larsson, rescue manager at Arvika.
The local rescue services now have access to more resources from MSB. Their helicopters introduced last year have already been used in more than 30 operations this year. Ahead of this year's season, MSB has expanded its capacity with two less scooping firefighters.
