June 23, 2020German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer has banned the far-right Nordadler group. The ministry spokesman, Steve Alter, announced on Twitter that the measure is valid in four German laenders: "Far-right extremism and anti-Semitism have no place on twitter". According to the ministry, the group - 'Northern Eagle' - follows a Nazi ideology, its members refer to Adolf Hitler and use symbols and language of the Nazi regime. In recent months, they had cheered for the attack on the synagogue in Halle, where a 28-year-old German, after trying to enter the place of worship, had killed two people who were nearby. Nordadler is the third far-right group to be banned in Germany in the current year.
