June 5, the region announced that testing for everyone in Västmanland with corona symptoms, so-called PCR tests, would start shortly. The start shot was planned around midsummer and was set to end on June 23. Now it is clear that this will not be the case, but it is estimated that it will take at least another week or more.

According to Chief of Staff Åke Tenerz, the reason for the delay is that the supplier has not got all the assignments from different regions. He cannot answer what is the reason why some regions have gone before.

The buses have not arrived

Sampling buses that have been promised at several locations in the county are part of what has not been delivered. In addition to receiving and sending coronate tests via mobile devices such as buses, the idea is that special pharmacies are also involved in the testing process. To begin with testing through them is a possible plan ahead.

- We are considering a solution where tests via pharmacies can only be solved before the buses are in place, says Åke Tenerz.

"Delays longer than the management has said"

According to tips for SVT Västmanland, several health care employees have long thought that the region's schedule would not hold. When asked what Åke Tenerz says about this picture, he answers:

- I thought it would be achievable. The date we got was today. That's what we had been told, he says.
