According to RIA Novosti, he commented on publications with proposals to consider the possibility of creating the Azov flotilla as part of the Black Sea Fleet because of the US decision to sell 16 Mark VI patrol boats to Ukraine.
Kravchenko noted that the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov and the Mediterranean are part of the Black Sea Fleet's operational area of responsibility.
According to him, the fleet structure is formed in such a way as to stop threats in the region in any direction.
“The Sea of Azov is no exception, it makes no sense to form additional commands here, there are enough forces,” he said.
It was previously reported that Ukraine may purchase a batch of Mark VI patrol boats from the United States.
