The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced today that it has decided to perform the Hajj Rite this year in very limited numbers for those wishing to perform it from various nationalities who are in the Kingdom, and justified this by the desire to keep the ritual residence in a safe and healthy way.

The ministry added that the decision to conduct pilgrimage in limited numbers from inside the Kingdom is due to the world witnessing the outbreak of the Corona virus emerging in more than 180 countries, the lack of vaccine and treatment for the infected, and for maintaining global health security.

The Hajj rites are scheduled to take place at the end of next July.

The Saudi authorities decided, after the spread of the Corona virus in the world, to suspend pilgrims coming as part of precautionary measures to confront the pandemic.

At the end of March, Saudi Minister of Hajj Muhammad Salih Banten called on the countries of the Islamic world to wait before making any plans for the pilgrimage, so that the vision regarding the Corona virus could be clear.

About 2.5 million Muslims perform the Hajj pilgrimage annually.
